2. Shelters

The Transitional Living Program (TLP) provides homeless youth with stable, safe living accommodations for up to 21 months. The TLP provides services to help young people develop skills necessary to move to independent housing. 

 

Safe Horizon is a victim assistance nonprofit that has been standing with victims of violence and abuse in New York City since 1978. We provide assistance, advocacy and support to victims who have experienced domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, youth homelessness and other crimes.

FOOD SECURITY

​​​Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

SNAP provides nutrition benefits to supplement the food budget of needy families so they can purchase healthy food and move towards self-sufficiency.

Food Banks

A food bank is a non-profit, charitable organization that distributes food to those who have difficulty purchasing enough to avoid hunger. Food banks are often located in local churches, schools, and community centers. You can research food banks in your area using resources like  Feeding America.
